On Pak vs India CS match result…

Posted by Neo on September 14, 2007

A good post from “rebel”   …on WCCF Tech Forums.

I wouldnt be that disappointed if I were you guys .. its been my experience (and I like to think I have quite a bit) that we have always made progress regardless of outcomes.. so they lose this isnt exactly the last time theyre going to play init ? It can be an offday thing or maybe they were just outplayed .. regardless they will be motivated to improve and knowing those guys they will..

there is an important need to understand that cs has other more important aspects to it that tend to super cede actual skill.. teamwork being the obvious where even 1 player having an offday can result in exposing the team and disrupting their gameplay (if u cant shoot u cud be kasparov and get owned) but I dont believe the fault would lie there…(or atleast I hope not)

CS, like many other competitive endeavors has a very strong base in momentum and strategy.. if the teams are equal its often the result of clutch play or something similar that tends to allow 1 team to run away with the game and as strong emotionally as you are sometimes being dominated the first few rounds or such or not having the answers immediately when faced with an out of the box aggressive style of play you just cant get past that feeling that you might not be as good as you think…In short the Indian team had the answers that time and they didnt…

they may have had trouble adjusting to the pcs which may sound like a lame excuse on the surface but believe me its not its THE MOST imporant part of the game (another reason y some people are amazing online and fail at lan) ..
of course the aspect of home advantage comes into play… that is why there is an sort of unwritten rule amongst the gaming community that you need to beat another team on their turf to truly find yourself superior.. or at least a neutral 1 at best which is y I feel the eswc victory is still of greater significance..

I havent seen these games myself.. I probably will soon when I have the time but just keep this things in mind when you feel like we got owned to hard or in general *suck*..

ciao

Details :: Pak vs India Match in Mumbai (Sep 10th)

Posted by Neo on September 13, 2007

Match Analysis: (from www.live2own.net)

Here is the game analysis from L2O Game Analyst – Vishal Kulkarni for the three matches :

The much awaited India – Pakistan friendly match took place on 10th Sepember, 2007 at World Trade Centre, Mumbai. This clash was eagerly anticipated as Team Havok  from Pakistan had beaten A+e at the ESWC in Paris. Expectations were high from A+e and they rightly proved why they are the top clan in India. Deadly accuracy and clockwork co-ordination enabled A+e to win all the three matches easily. A+e chose nuke, Hvk chose inferno and the organizers chose the 3rd map – dust2.
Here is a round-wise account of the matches as they happened.

First map: de_nuke
A+e: T, Hvk: CT

•    A+e start by camping for a while, prodding and pushing for the crucial first kill. Eventually they storm cab taking out the whole Hvk team in a matter of seconds. [Score: 1-0]
•    A+e buy galils and aks. 3 Hvk players rush cab to meet a swift end. 2 players who camp at ramp are promptly finished by Ritz. [Score: 2-0]
•    4 Hvk players at ramp, 1 out. A+e plants cab and wins round. [Score: 3-0]
•    Standard strat by Hvk – 3 cab, 2 ramp. A+e spread all over map. Ramp push with n|L3 coming through vent to finish off. [Score: 4-0]
•    Rey rushes cab and kills 3 players with the efficiency of an assassin. A+e wins. [Score: 5-0]
•    A lot of spamming to begin with. A+e ramp rush fails as Hyper X rushes from behind and kills bomber. Hvk wins. [Score: 5-1]
•    A cab rush this time. 2v2 after plant. Ritz and Rshkhn kill 1 each to win round. [Score: 6-1]
•    A standard A+e quick rush and slam-bang finish. [Score: 7-1]
•    Cab rush by A+e. Sasuke at ladder up finds 3 nades lobbed at him. D.O.T saves m4 at dummy site. [Score: 8-1]
•    A replay of last round. Cab plant. D.O.T again saves m4 at dummy. [Score: 9-1]
•    A fast ramp rush takes Hvk by surprise. [Score: 10-1]
•    Hvk does a deagle push. A+e wins comfortably. [Score: 11-1]
•    3 A+e players rush out to cab. Cab plant. [Score: 12-1]
•    Fast rush and plant. D.O.T tries to save mag at his favourite hiding place. But A+e kills him this time. [Score: 13-1]
•    Hvk wins as A+e cab rush fails. [Score: 13-2]
First half score: A+e leads 13-2

•    Slow mid push by A+e. Plant at house. [Score: 2-0]
•    Rey rushes Rambo-style through mid to carpet hall via small house. He kills 3 CTs on the way. [Score: 3-0]
•    Ritz boosts Rshkhn and rey to small house. A co-ordinated rush results in 4 CT deaths. Then A+e rushes to kill the last man at alley. Shagger kills 3 with mag but is denied the save. [Score: 4-0]
•    Fast mid rush by T. D.O.T tries to save ak at CT spawn but fails. [Score: 5-0]

•    Most of Hvk buys famas. They foil T rush. [Score: 11-4]
First Half Score: A+e leads 11-4
•    A+e adopts aggressive defence approach. 2 players camp carpet hall stairs and 2 near alley boxes. Hvk house plants and wins round. [Score: 11-5]
•    Shagger gets 2 early kills in alley. 1mpaL3 and Rshkhn try to save ak in alley passage but are killed. [Score: 11-6]

Result: A+e wins 3-0
Conclusion:
The A+e players played with purpose and resolve. There was never any complacency on their part even when they were winning. It was a bad day for Hvk as they were outplayed by A+e. Despite this, they showed flashes of brilliance throughout the game. Everyone was aiming for perfection as even minor slipups in the execution of strategies were not spared.
The players chatted in between matches about their pools in WCG. The Hvk guys said that they were enjoying their stay in Mumbai. The rivalry in game and the camaraderie in between games indicated a healthy and professional gaming atmosphere which definitely augurs well for the future of Asian gaming. It was an appropriate culmination to the India leg of the WCG.
